Different materials solve different problems. A dependable choice starts with use, fit and a rating tied to a named test standard.
Reusable silicone
Washable silicone formats can support repeat use and multiple tip or flange geometries. Final care instructions and material grade are confirmed per model.
Acoustic filters
Filtered products are intended to reduce sound level while retaining more usable frequency balance than fully blocking formats. Actual attenuation must be read from the model-specific test data.
PU and other foam
Compressible foam expands to create a seal. Fit technique, ear-canal compatibility and replacement frequency materially affect performance.
Understanding dB, SNR and NRR
SNR and NRR come from different rating systems and must not be treated as interchangeable. A plain “dB” claim without a named standard is shown as pending verification on this site.
